Fourth Quarter Surge Can't Push Golden Eagles Past Blue Knights

CHARLESTON, WV – The Golden Eagles (1-4, 1-4 MEC) scored 21 unanswered points in the final minutes of regulation, but fell short losing 21-25 to the Urbana Blue Knights (3-2, 2-2 MEC).

Charleston Game Leaders: Offense
-Colar Kuhn led the Golden Eagles with 225 yards passing, and one touchdown, while red shirt sophomore Kane Roush led with 57 yards rushing and one touchdown. 
-Johnny Delahoussaey led UC with 115 yards receiving and one touchdown. 

Charleston Game Leaders: Defense
-John Cominsky and James King led the Golden Eagles with 10 tackles each.
-Kahzin Daniels tied the career sack record for the Golden Eagles with two in the loss. 

UU Game Leaders: Offense
-Tajuan Green led the Blue Knights with 269 yards in the air and two touchdowns. 
-Trevon Saunders led with 106 yards receiving, while teammate Rodell Rahmaan tallied 62 yards receiving with two touchdowns.

UU Game Leaders: Defense
-Duray Hall led with eight tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss and one sack. 

How it Happened
-Five minutes into the first quarter Josh Cole hit a 32-yard field goal to put Urbana up 3-0. After driving the field to close out the first quarter the Blue Knights hit a another field goal, this time 38-yards out, to give Urbana the 6-0 advantage over the Golden Eagles. 
-With 10 minutes to go in the first half Urbana moved the ball 71 yards down the field. Tajuan Green Connected with Rodell Rahmaan on a 9-yard pass for UU's first touchdown of the game. Urbana was able to hold off the Golden Eagles for the remainder of the half. 
-Coming out of the break neither team could find the end zone in the third quarter. Urbana took over in the red zone to close out the third, only having to move the ball two yards to score their second touchdown less than a minute into the fourth quarter. 
-Two minutes later a bad snap ends in a safety giving Urbana the 22-0 lead over Charleston. With just under ten minutes to go in the fourth Josh Cole hit his third fieldgoal of the game to give Urbana a 25-0 lead. 
-With 7:57 to go Colar Kuhns found Johnny Delahoussaey with a 55-yard pass for Charleston's first touchdown of the night. Five minutes later Kane Roush broke through on a 3-yard run to cut the Urban lead to just 10 points with two minutes to go. 
-In the final play of the game Colar Kuhn took the ball 16 yards to the end zone bringing the score to 25-21, but time would run out giving the Blue Knights the victory.

-The Golden Eagles will host the Bobcats of West Virginia Wesleyan on Saturday, October 6. Kickoff is slated for 1:00 p.m.
