CHARLESTON, WV – A stellar fourth quarter comeback from the Glenville State Pioneers (15-1, 10-0 MEC) sent them to a 69-63 victory over the University of Charleston Women's Basketball team (8-7, 5-5 MEC) in Saturday Mountain East Conference action.

How it Happened
-Both teams came out swinging to start the game. The Pioneers took an early 14-6 lead, but the Golden Eagles clawed back to take the 15-14 lead with a bucket by Madison Jones with just over a minute to play. The Pioneers hit a last second bucket to take an 18-17 lead to head into the second quarter.
-The Pioneers maintained their one point lead on the Golden Eagles until a pair of buckets by Ambrea Williams gave UC the 20-18 lead.
-The Golden Eagles held onto their lead through the remainder of the second quarter, Taylor Parker tied the game up for the Pioneers on a fast break to bring the score 28-28. Courtney Davis brought the game within one point from the Golden Eagles on a last second bucket to send the teams into the locker room with the Golden Eagles up 31-30 on Glenville State.
-Charleston came out of the break to go on an 11-0 run on the Pioneers to lead 41-30 just 2 minutes into the third quarter. With just under five minutes to play in the third quarter the Golden Eagles maintained a 45-30 lead, with the Pioneers failing to score in the opening minutes of the second half.
-Charleston outscored Glenville 23-10 in the third quarter to head into the fourth ahead 54-40.
-The Pioneers went on a 12-0 run to open the third quarter to bring the score within two points. The Pioneers continued to dominate the fourth quarter led by Paris McLeod who scored 11 of the fourth quarter points for Glenville State. Glenville State lead 62-56, but a three ball by Hayton brought the Golden Eagles within four with 2 minutes to play. With 30 seconds to play Hayton hit another three to bring the score within two.
-Glenville state outscored Charleston 29-9 in the fourth quarter to take the game 69-63.
