How it Happened
It was a similar story in the first half of play, as both the Bobcats and the Golden Eagles fought hard to get shots off. However, neither team was successful in putting a goal in the back of the net.
Heading into the second half, Charleston continued to fire shots towards the goal, but were not able to finish one. Wesleyan worked hard to bring the ball to their offensive third, but had the same offensive problems as the Golden Eagles. The first two halves of regular play ended scoreless for both teams, forcing the rivals into overtime.
The first 10 minutes of over-time were high intensity between the two sides, but neither were able to put the ball away, sending the game into another over-time.
The Golden Eagles worked towards the Bobcats defense in the last 10 minutes of play, but were not able to find the net, ending the MEC game in a 0-0 tie.
