How it Happened
The Golden Eagles tied with the Concord Mountain Lions on Sunday afternoon after giving up a second half goal to tie the game. The first half of play was even between the two sides, before UC's Marlee Coleman put one in the back of the net from 25 yards out, giving Charleston a 1-0 lead. The first half went back and forth between the two sides, but the Golden Eagles kept the lead going into the half.
The second half of play was a similar story for both teams, as they continued to possess the ball back and forth. The Golden Eagles attempted to attack Concord's defensive side, but were not able to finish the ball. Concord, however, gained momentum, attacking UC and finishing the ball to tie the game 1-1 at the 69:00-minute mark.
Neither side could gain enough energy to give their team the edge, forcing the game into overtime. The score remained tied in the first overtime, giving both sides 10 extra minutes to get a goal. Neither team were able to end the game with a win, ending in a 1-1 tie.
