UC Defeats Fairmont After Double Overtime Goal

CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The Golden Eagle's had an intense win over the Fighting Falcons from Fairmont State on Sunday afternoon, winning 2-1 in double overtime.

How it Happened
Charleston Women's Soccer defeated regionally ranked Fairmont State on Sunday afternoon, after a goal from freshman forward Kassandra Demps in the second overtime of play.
 
The game between the two side started off on the side of Fairmont State, after a goal from Abigail Johnson in the seventh minute of play put Charleston behind. With shots from both teams before the end of the first 45 minutes, the Golden Eagles trailed behind the Falcons heading in to the half.
 
Charleston began the second half of play with most pf the possession, before freshman Kassandra Demps assisted freshman Keira Hill, to make the score even at 1-1 with 22 minutes left to play. With attempts from both teams, the score remained tied at 1-1 at the end of regular time, forcing the game into overtime. The first overtime went scoreless, forcing the game into a second one. UC's Kassandra Demps ended the game after an assist from freshman Roberta Pomi, giving UC a 2-1 victory over the Falcons.
