CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The Golden Eagles earned their second win of the season on Tuesday night, after defeating the Golden Bears of West Virginia Tech 77-69.

How it Happened
The Golden Eagles had a great start to the game against the Golden Bears, leading 10-0 before the visitors got their first basket on the board. Standout transfer Raziyah Farrington put up 6 points in the first quarter of play, as UC led 19-13 heading into the second quarter. The Golden Eagles went 9-19 on field goas, 0-3 from the three-point line, and 1-4 from the free throw line in the first half.
Charleston's Aloneet Durden started the scoring frenzy for the Golden Eagles with a jumper, as they put up 24 points against Tech in the second quarter of the game. The Golden Eagles increased their shooting percentage from the first quarter, as they were 55.56% successful on their field goals. Charleston pushed their lead to 43-30 heading into the half.
 
The visiting Golden Bears came out with energy after the break, outscoring Charleston 19-14 in the third quarter. Charleston went 6-16 on field goals, while the opposing Golden Bears went 9-15. UC's lead became slimmer after the third quarter, leading Tech 57-49.
 
With a quick start to the fourth quarter, the Golden Eagles gained momentum, putting up 20 points to win the game 77-69. Charleston gained 22 points off of turnovers, scored 48 of their points in the paint, and had 13 fast break points.
