CHARLESTON, W.VA – The Golden Eagle's women's basketball team won their second in a row Monday evening at Salem International University, outscoring the Tigers 50-42.

After the first 10 minutes of the game, the score was tied 9-9, however heading into the second quarter Charleston began to pull away from Salem. Abby Watson led the Golden Eagles in points in the first half (5) as well as rebounds (7) and steals (1). In the first half of the game Charleston made 26.9% of their shots, falling three percent behind the Tigers.
Heading into the fourth quarter of the game UC had a tight lead over Salem, 34-30, but took over the game in the last 10 minutes scoring a total of 16 points. UC totaled 35 rebounds throughout the game compared to just 24 from SIU. Charleston used their size advantage and pushed passed Salem to cruise to a 50-42 win. Abby Watson led the Golden Eagles with 22 total points, 10 rebounds, seven assists, and two steals.
