CHARLESTON, WV – The University of Charleston men's basketball team (14-11, 10-9) defeated the Fairmont State Falcons (18-7, 14-5 MEC) on Thursday night 78-65 to improve to 14-11 on the season.

How it Happened
Keir Anderson opened up the scoring for the Golden Eagles, scoring the first five points of the game, but the Falcons shortly tied the game up just two minutes into play. The teams would exchange the lead three more times in the next two minutes before the Golden Eagles would grasp their lead and maintain it for the remainder of the first half. Led by seniors Keir Anderson and Austin Howard, the Golden Eagles shot nearly 50 percent in the first half to head into the locker room with a five-point lead of Fairmont State.
Charleston held onto their lead coming out of the break and clung to their lead, only allowing Falcons to get within four points during the half. The Golden Eagles remained consistent on the offensive end during the game, shooting 49 percent for the game, and a season-high 82 percent from the charity stripe. The Golden Eagles tallied 15 points off turnovers in the win and also out shot the Falcons 40 percent to 21 from behind the arc.
Charleston's efficient offense led them to a 13-point victory over the Falcons.
