CHARLESTON, WV – The University of Charleston women's basketball team advances to the MEC quarterfinals after a 68-48 victory over the Urbana Blue Knights.

How it Happened 
Led by Octavia Loll, who finished with 17 points finishing the Golden Eagles will continue to the quarter finals of the MEC tournament on Thursday.
 
The Golden Eagles maintained their dominant performance after Octavia Loll laid one in to make the score 54-48 with 7:05 to play. The Golden Eagles came into the third quarter with a 10-point lead over Urbana. Urbana brought the score within seven with a jumper by Weston Minnich with just over three minutes to play.  
 
The Golden Eagles never trailed in the second period, holding on to go into the break with a 31-19 lead over the Blue Knights.

The Golden Eagles started off hot outscoring Urbana 21-7 in the first period. Led by Senior Marissa Koob who rattled off a pair of threes to put the Golden Eagles up 18-7 with less than a minute to go.
 
The Golden Eagles sailed to a 68-48 victory.
