CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Freshman outside hitter Max Senica helped Charleston make quick work of the visiting Royals from Queens Univ. of Charlotte, taking the match in straight sets to move to 4-1 on the season.

How it Happened
SET 1
UC looked like they were well on their way to closing out the first set in easy fashion, leading 22-16 late in the opener. The Royals rallied for five consecutive points to draw within one, 22-21. The two teams traded points until tied at 24-24 when UC got a kill by Ryan Santos followed by an attack error by Queens to put Charleston ahead 1-0 heading to the second set.
SET 2
The second set was played more closely throughout with Charleston never establishing more than a 4-point lead in the set, and led by just two, 20-18 late in the frame. The tandem of Ryan Santos and Max Senica came up big in the final stages, combining for four kills in UC's final five points to push the Golden Eagles past Queens, 25-21, and take a 2-0 set lead entering what would be the final set.
SET 3
Charleston took command early, jumping out to huge 17-8 lead over the Royals before the visitors decided to make things tough for the Golden Eagles. Queens responded to claw its way to a deficit of just two, 23-21, and serving to trim it to a single point. Charleston's Conner Brandland and Senica was determined to close out the Royals in straight sets, coming up with two big kills in the match's final two points to give UC the 3-0 win with a 25-22 victory in the third.

- Season high kills were set for four Golden Eagles in Saturday's victory over Queens Univ. of Charlotte (Senica, Stuart, Krumerac, and Brandland). Brandon Greenway filled in nicely for Anthony Rivera to dish out his season-high 36 assists while Ryan Santos and Rajahl Moxey each posted their season-high in digs.
