CHARLESTON, WV – The University of Charleston women's basketball team (9-12, 6-10 MEC) fell to the Glenville State Pioneers (21-1, 16-0 MEC) in the Waco Center on Saturday afternoon. The Golden Eagles were led by sophomore forward Anna Hayton to nearly posted her third double-double of the season with 16 points and nine rebounds.

How it Happened
The Pioneers were the first to score with a layup by Paris McLeod and kept their lead until Sophomore guard Octavia Loll tied the game up 7-7 with just over five minutes to play in the first quarter. The Pioneers regained the lead and closed out the first quarter with a two-point lead over the Golden Eagles (18-16).
 
Nearly a minute passed in the second quarter until the Golden Eagles tied the game up 18-18. The Golden Eagles took the lead with 8:00 to play. The two teams exchanged the lead four more times before the Pioneers took the 40-38 lead before heading into the break.
 
Glenville State took control in the third quarter after gaining a two-point lead with six minutes to play. In the final minute of the period the Pioneers led 59-53. In the final second of the period McLeod was fouled on the three-point line. After sinking all three free throws the Golden Eagles went into the fourth quarter down by nine points to Glenville.
 
The game got away from the Golden Eagles in the fourth quarter as the Pioneers led by Paris McLeod who tallied 32 points, outscored the Golden Eagles 19-10 in the final period to take the 81-63 victory.
