CHARLESTON, WV – The University of Charleston men's basketball team (13-10, 9-8 MEC) fell to the Wheeling Jesuit Cardinals (18-5, 13-4 MEC) on Thursday night. The Golden Eagles were led by Keir Anderson who tallied 22 points in the loss.

How it Happened
Charleston got on the board firsts, going on a 6-0 run to start the half. The Cardinals took the 9-6 lead with fifteen minutes left to play with a three-pointer by Drake Goddard. Wheeling Jesuit would continue to own the first half holding a 10-point lead with just under nine minutes to play. The Cardinals 37 percent from the three-spot gave them the edge in the first half to seal their lead for the first half. Charleston went into the break down 35-29 to Wheeling Jesuit.
Wheeling Jesuit maintained their lead through the second half, but the Golden Eagles climbed back into the game to tie it up 59-59 with a three pointer by Keir Anderson with 7:47 left to play in regulation. The teams exchanged the lead three times before the five-minute mark was reached.
Wheeling Jesuit outscored the Golden Eagles 17-8 in the final five minutes to down the Golden Eagles 75-69.
