CHARLESTON, WV -- The University of Charleston men's basketball team ended their season in the Mountain East Conference Tournament Finals on Sunday, falling to the Wheeling Jesuit Cardinals 65-80.

How it Happened
After a whirlwind performance on Saturday night the Golden Eagles shot 44 percent in their final game the season falling by 15 to the Cardinals who took their first conference basketball title in school history.
Down by 12 at the half, the Golden Eagles game out to outscore the Cardinals 16-12 to cut the Wheeling lead to just five points. The Cardinals turned up in the final minutes of the half outscoring the Golden Eagles 30-20 in the final 11 minutes to seal the victory.
Senior Keir Anderson led the Golden Eagles with 18 points and three rebounds. Austin Howard finished with 14 points while Freshman
Seth O'Neal finished with 12 points for Charleston.
Conference Player of the year, Haywood Highsmith finished with 31 points and 11 rebounds for Wheeling Jesuit.
The Golden Eagles started the game going 10-24 from the field but were outs hot by WJU's 43 percent led by Brent Pegram and Highsmith who combined for 32 of Wheelings 38 first half points.
