CHARLESTON, WV – The Golden Eagles close out their home slate before a week on the road with a sweep of the Alderson Broaddus Battlers to seal a five-game win streak heading into spring break.

How it Happened
GAME 1:
With Karli Pinkerton on third, Shelby Ume hit a SAC fly to left field to bring the first run in for the Golden Eagles. The Bats fell silent for both teams until the bottom of the fourth when Julia DeSalvo hit a double to bring Danielle Norton home. Kendall Marshall singled to left field sending Pinkerton and DeSalvo home giving UC the 4-0 lead.
In the bottom of the sixth sophomore catcher Haleigh Christopher doubled to center field sending Pinkerton home. Shelby Ume followed up with a single to the shortstop to bring Walkosz home. Kendall Marshall went 3-4 from the plate with two RBIs in the 6-0 victory.
GAME 2:
A pair of runs for the Battlers in the first two innings gave them the 2-0 lead going into the bottom of the second. DeSalvo got the ball rolling for the Golden Eagles with a double to center field sending Rachel Rusch and Emily Dutton home to tie it up. DeSalvo then advanced to third on a wild pitch allowing Harrington to score then scored on the error by the Battler's catcher
Kendall Marshall singled to left field sending Ume home giving UC the 5-2 lead. The Golden Eagles picked up four more runs before the end of the second inning. In the fourth Rusch singled to left field sending Alex Thomas home. The Golden Eagles took the early victory with the eight run advantage.
Carlee Lucas picked up her fourth win of the season while Jessie Rowe sealed another save for the year.

The Golden Eagles will travel to Clermont, FL for The Spring Games. Their first outing will be against regional opponent Kutztown University on Sunday at 2:00 p.m.
