CHARLESTON, WV – After taking the 4-3 victory in game one, the Golden Eagles (17-13) dropped game two to the UVA-Wise Cavaliers 0-4 to move to 4-8 in MEC play.

How it Happened
GAME 1:
In the bottom of the third inning the Cavaliers sent a pair of runs home to take the 2-0 advantage over the Golden Eagles, but Charleston answered in the top of the fourth with a homer by Haleigh Christopher and a sacrifice by Sierra Harrington to tie the game up 2-2.
In the bottom of the sixth a single by Madison David sent Nikki Smith home to give Wise the 3-2 lead. Charleston tied the game up in the top of the seventh scoring on an error by the Cavalier second baseman sending the game into extra innings.
In the top of the ninth Christopher singled to to left field allowing AJ Martin to score. The Cavaliers were unable to score in the bottom of the ninth giving Charleston the 4-3 victory.
GAME 2:
The Golden Eagles were unable to get rolling offensively in game two. In the bottom of the first Zoe Millard singled through the right side sending Taylor Creasey home to go down 0-1 to Wise.
In the bottom of the fourth Alexis Miles hit a two-run homer to take the 3-0 advantage. In the same inning Samantha Ely singled to left field sending Kaylee Jones home.
The Cavaliers held on through the seventh inning to take the 4-0 victory from Charleston.

The Golden Eagles will travel to Institute, to face their cross-town rivals, West Virginia State. Game one against the Yellow Jackets is set to begin at 4:00 p.m.
