How it Happened
UC was determined to send the Golden Eagle seniors out with a victory, but Sacred Heart did their best to spoil the Senior Day celebration.  Charleston withstood a Pioneer rally from two sets down to pull out a five-set win to close out their record-breaking season, finishing 16-10 overall while winning five EIVA matches to finish fifth in the conference.

The Golden Eagles jumped out to a two-set lead, only to see Rob Chatterton (23 kills) put the Pioneers on his back and even the match at 2-2 by winning the third and fourth sets, setting up the decisive fifth.  UC, undefeated in five-set matches this season, saved their best volleyball for last. Charleston ran away with the set, 15-5, behind solid defense at the net and strong serving from Eugene Stuart and Jonathan Corpeno.
