CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The Golden Eagles added another loss to their record on Wednesday evening, falling to Ashland University 4-1.

How it Happened
Ashland took control of the game early, capitalizing on an opportunity in the 16^th minute of play, as junior Deijah Swihart had the first goal of the game, putting AU up 1-0. However, the Golden Eagles responded defensively, not allowing any more goals for the rest of the half, ending the first half of play down a goal.
 
The score remained 1-0 as the second half played on, however, at the 70-minute mark, Ashland's Hannah Simard added another goal for the Eagles, putting UC down 2-0 with 20 minutes left in the game. Less than a minute later, AU's Deijah Swihart drove another goal into the back of the net for her second goal of the game, putting Ashland up 3-0.
 
Charleston didn't give up, scoring less than a minute later as senior Alana Mikulis assisted freshman Roberta Pomi, giving UC their first goal of the game, making the score 3-1. However, just nine seconds later off of the kickoff, Ashland's Emily Ledbetter had the final goal of the game, with Ashland beating the Golden Eagles 4-1.
