CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The Golden Eagles added another loss to their record on Wednesday evening, falling to Ashland University 4-1.

How it Happened
Ashland took control of the game early, capitalizing on an opportunity in the 16
th minute of play, as junior Deijah Swihart had the first goal of the game, putting AU up 1-0. However, the Golden Eagles responded defensively, not allowing any more goals for the rest of the half, ending the first half of play down a goal.
The score remained 1-0 as the second half played on, however, at the 70-minute mark, Ashland's Hannah Simard added another goal for the Eagles, putting UC down 2-0 with 20 minutes left in the game. Less than a minute later, AU's Deijah Swihart drove another goal into the back of the net for her second goal of the game, putting Ashland up 3-0.
Charleston didn't give up, scoring less than a minute later as senior Alana Mikulis assisted freshman Roberta Pomi, giving UC their first goal of the game, making the score 3-1. However, just nine seconds later off of the kickoff, Ashland's Emily Ledbetter had the final goal of the game, with Ashland beating the Golden Eagles 4-1.
