Evansville, Ind. -- University of Charleston women's tennis traveled to Southern Indiana on Saturday evening, pounding the Screaming Eagles, 7-0, at the Evansville Tennis Center.
Charleston earned the singles point after sweeping all three doubles courts in fairly easy fashion led by Elise Edwards and Silvana Slusarciuc's 6-0 victory at No. 2 doubles.
UC continued the momentum from doubles into singles, claiming all six singles courts and dropping just one set to the hosts.  Kristine Gegeshidze was off the court first, dominating her opponent 6-1, 6-0 followed by Slusarciuc who won with the same set scores.  Senior Elise Edwards provided the match clinching victory at No. 3 singles, winning easily over her Screaming Eagle opponent, 6-3, 6-0.
The Golden Eagles return to the court on Wednesday, October 3rd as they travel to Salem, W.Va. to take on the Tigers from Salem University.
