Golden Eagles Down Gannon 5-0

CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The preseason ranked #1 Golden Eagles notched five goals in their Sunday contest against the Gannon University Golden Knights. Five Golden Eagles found the net – Tam Dimairo, Gabriel Cabral, Leon Kroiss, Alexandre Guichard, and Nicolas Engelking. Manuel Perez tallied two assists in the victory as well.

How it Happened
After a 0-0 draw with Saginaw Valley State the Golden Eagles were looking to add a tick in the win column for the 2018 season. Eight minutes into the contest Tam Dimairo found the net to put the Golden Eagles up 1-0. Gabriel Cabral hit a one-touch laser off a pass from Manuel Perez to give the Golden Eagles their second goal of the match.
 
In the second half, Leon Kroiss netted a header off a corner from Armando Tikvic to give Charleston the 3-0 advantage early in the second half. In the 77th minute Alexandre Guichard took a pass across the box from Nico Engelking and sent the ball passed the Gannon keeper for the 4-0 lead.
 
Finishing off the scoring for the Golden Eagles was Nico Engleking, to nailed a header of a service by Perez in the 85th minute.

UC hosts West Liberty on Wednesday as the Hilltoppers open their first official season as members of the Mountain East Conference. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
