CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The Golden Eagle's women's volleyball team won one match, and fell in three others, as they hosted the MEC/PSAC Crossover Tournament over the weekend.

How It Happened
MATCH 1
The Golden Eagles took home their first win of the year after defeating the Golden Bears from Kutztown 3-0. Charleston won this match with ease, defeating Kutztown in three sets, 25-22, 25-22, 26-24.
MATCH 2
Shippensburg University handed UC their first loss of the weekend, defeating them 3-1. After losing the first set, the Golden Eagles came back with determination, defeating the Raiders in the second set, 25-23. UC, however, could not keep up the tempo, falling in the next two sets, giving Shippensburg the win on the day.
MATCH 3
Mercyhurst gained the edge over Charleston, winning the 2
nd and 4
th sets, taking UC into a fifth set. UC could not hold on to the set, falling to the Lakers 15-12, losing the match 3-2.
MATCH 4
UC fell to Slippery rock 3-2, in a heartbreaking ending. The Golden Eagles won the first two sets against SRU, but could not keep up the tempo, falling in the next three sets to the Rockies.
UP NEXT
The Golden Eagles will travel to Wheeling, W.Va. on Friday, September 7, to play in the Wheeling Jesuit Scrimmage Tournament. They will face the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown and Shippensburg University on Friday, and Slippery Rock University and Clarion University on Saturday.
