CHARLESTON, W.Va. – After a double overtime game on Wednesday night, the Golden Eagles fell to the visiting Concord Mountain Lions 98-96.

How it Happened
The Golden Eagles took control of the game early, leading the visiting Mountain Lions from the start. UC continued to lead Concord, leading 26-13, with 9:46 left until the half. Despite efforts, the Mountain Lions were not able to edge Charleston before the half, with UC leading 40-33.
UC's sophomore standout Lamont McManus led the Golden Eagles in the first half 12 points, while David Robinson and Adam Traore each had four rebounds. Charleston was 53.1% successful on field goals, whereas the visitors were only 41.9%.
The second half of play was a change of pace, as the Golden Eagles and Mountain Lions battled to take the lead. Though keeping the score close, Charleston was able to continue to stay in control of the game, leading by at least two points throughout the duration of the half, until Concord took the lead by a point with less than a minute left.
UC tied the game up with 30 seconds left, after a basket from McManus. Neither team could seal the deal, forcing the game into overtime.
Charleston took an early lead in overtime, however, the visiting Mountain Lions were able to catch up, with both teams grinding out the five minutes. Neither team was able to up the other, ending the first overtime tied at 84-84.
The last five minutes of the game were intense, as both sides so desperately wanted to gain the win. Charleston and Concord went back and forth, but the Golden Eagles weren't able to find the momentum to push past the visitors, falling 98-96 to the Mountain Lions.
