CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The Golden Eagles opened up 2019 with a 40-point victory over the Ohio Valley Fighting Scotts. Charleston was led by sophomore guard who posted a triple-double, scoring 23 points, grabbing 11 boards, and 10 steals.

How it Happened
The Golden Eagles took their lead with 6:16 to go in the first quarter and never looked back. Charleston shot 36 percent in the first half led by Pannell. UC headed into the break with a 14-point lead over the Scotts.
Coming out of the break Charleston maintained their lead through the rest of the game shooting 55 percent in the second half en route to their 40-point victory heading back into conference play.
