CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The Golden Eagles (4-3, 3-3 MEC) took a 42-7 loss on the road to the Frostburg State Bobcats on Thursday night. Turnovers stifled the Golden Eagles as the Bobcats converted two touchdowns on five Golden Eagle turnovers. Frostburg scored 28 points in the first half before the Golden Eagles scored late in the third quarter.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Frostburg ground game ate the clock on each drive, opening the contest with an 11 play, 5:30 drive to score the first touchdown of the game on a two yard run by Gavin Lavat.
The Golden Eagles opened the second quarter drive with a fumble that was recovered by Zach Strand for a 39-yard return for the 14-0 lead.
The Bobcats would score two more times before the intermission, holding a 28-0 lead over the Golden Eagles heading into the break.
Charleston got the ball moving to open the second half, as Brant Grisel hit Mike Strachan on a 24-yard pass for the Golden Eagles first touchdown of the game.
Sitting with the comfortable 28-7 lead heading into the fourth quarter, the Bobcats drove the field 64-yards ending on a 27-yard pass from Will Brunson that found Lincoln Ikwubuo for the 35-7 lead over the Golden Eagles.
The Bobcats closed out their fourth quarter effort with a touchdown on a one-yard rush from Aizsha Horne to seal the 42-7 victory.
