How It Happened

In the first set, Charleston was able to come out hot. They were able to put up 14 kills padded by a .306 hitting percentage and limited the attacking errors to only three. Frostburg could only manage to get off seven kills and a .027 hitting percentage. The Bobcats could not seem to get the ball on the ground as UC made multiple diving plays to keep the ball alive off of Frostburg's attack game. Charleston's efforts resulted in a 25-13 set win.

The Golden Eagles were able to keep the momentum rolling early on in the second set. UC started the set looking great, they tallied seven straight points to begin the match. Frostburg pulled it together and made it a close game, however. The Bobcats were able to capitalize on mistakes made by the Golden Eagles and pulled the game to within one point at a score of 15-14 Charleston. Although Frostburg made a good effort in trying to come back, Charleston was able to put the set away by posting 14 kills and a .216 hitting percentage. The Bobcats made five more attacking errors along with a .027 hitting percentage. The Golden Eagles, despite having six attacking errors in the set, continued to attack the net and went on to win the set 25-17.

It was much of the same in the third set. Frostburg was only able to put together five kills and had a hitting percentage of .036. Charleston continued to play aggressive as they tallied 13 more kills with a .333 hitting percentage. This proved to be too much for the Bobcats as Charleston went on to win the set 25-12.
