The game was held scoreless through much of the first half as the Golden Eagles had two shots in the first 20 minutes, one wide left while the other was saved by the Urbana goalkeeper off of a well-placed corner kick.
Late in the first half, the Golden Eagles were able to get on the board as they received an unassisted goal from McKenna Sullivan to put UC up 1-0. Not long after, the Golden Eagles were able to find the back of the net again. This time the goal came from Shannon Henson on an assist from Keira Hill. With that goal, Charleston widened their lead to 2-0 over the Blue Knights.
With 3:12 to go in the first half, Charleston earned themselves a penalty kick as a result of some aggressive play in the box. Madison Hansen was successful on the try, extending the Golden Eagle lead to 3-0 going into the half.
As the second half progressed, there was some even play between both teams. They were both able to get off some good shots but neither team could get much going in terms of offense. The half remained scoreless and the match ended with Charleston taking the win over Urbana 3-0.
