WHEELING, W.Va. -- The University of Charleston successfully defended its Mountain East Conference Men's Cross Country title at Oglebay Resort

UC had all 7 of their runners finished in the top 15 which allowed them to have a total of 20 points. Davis and Elkins placed second, 25 points behind Charleston.

Runner of the Yeah, Jack Mastandrea came in first with an impressive time of 26:04. Teammate and other top runner for UC Kyle Hinson placed second with a time of 26:29. Alex Kitony was not too far behind crossing the finish line in third place with a time of 26:57. All three of them finished with less than minute apart.

David Cecchi, a returner of the MEC, finished only minute behind Mastandrea with a time of 27:06. Stephen Korir and Connor Kaufman placed ninth and tenth, rounding out the top ten. Cameron Lee was the last golden eagle to finish placing 15
th and an impressive time of 27:45.

Coach Nick Bias was awarded Coach of the Year.

Up Next the Golden Eagles will travel to Lock Haven, PA. to compete in the NCAA Atlantic Regional.
