CHARLESTON, W. Va. – The Golden Eagles remain unbeaten in Mountain East Conference play with their 3-0 win over the Frostburg State Bobcats on Thursday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Bobcats weathered the storm that was the Golden Eagles offense for nearly 43 minutes, but at the 42:01 mark the Golden Eagles got on the board with a goal from
Jesus Cabanas from just outside the box. The two sides went into the break with Charleston holding onto a 1-0 lead.
After the break, the Golden Eagles went right back on the attack, taking less than six minutes to score.
Adam Burchellfollowed a shot that was saved by the Bobcat goalkeeper and finished in in the low left corner.
Charleston kept coming, and it was Burchell again who finished a ball played into the box by Cabanas. The Golden Eagles took the 3-0 victory, improving to 6-2 on the season, and undefeated at the Welch Athletic Complex.
The Golden Eagle offense kept the Bobcat defense busy, outshooting their opponents 15-2, with Joel Assal tallying seven saves for Frostburg.
UP NEXT
The Golden Eagles will be on the road Sunday, October 6 to take on the Wheeling Jesuit Cardinals. This will be the Golden Eagles first meeting with the Cardinals since the 2018 Mountain East Conference Championship Final. Kickoff is slated for 1:00 p.m.
