CHARLESTON, W. Va. -- The UC Golden Eagles Women's Soccer team defeated the Pioneers of Glenville State 3-1 on Sunday evening as part of Senior Night at the Welch Athletic Complex. With the win, Charleston (5-4, 3-2 MEC) moves to 4-0 all-time against the Pioneers (2-7, 0-5 MEC) who are still seeking their first MEC victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
After an entire week since Charleston last played on September 29
th, the Golden Eagles' time off and the use of 24 different players proved helpful as UC soared past Glenville State 3-1 on Senior Night.

Following 37 minutes of scoreless soccer to begin the match, Charleston found their way onto the scoreboard after
Keira Hill scored her first goal of the game off a touch from
Alana Mikulis. For Hill, it was her team-leading forth goal of the season while Mikulis notched her 12
th career assist for the Golden Eagles.

Charleston would extend their lead with just under four minutes remaining in the half after a goal from
Evelina Von Euler pushed the UC lead to 2-0. In the 56
th minute, Hill would score her second goal of the contest off an assist from Von Euler to put UC ahead 3-0. The two-goal game for Hill marked her third career multi-goal game for the Golden Eagles.

Glenville State would push their way onto the board with just under 15 minutes to play after Jordan Cole was assisted by Julia Lesko.

Overall, the Golden Eagles were able to put 13 shots up against the Pioneers, 11 on net as Goalkeeper Morgan Smailes recorded eight saves. UC Keeper
Kaylee Hensley recorded two saves on three Pioneer shots.

Charleston will hit the road on Wednesday to face off against Concord University at 1:00 p.m. before heading to West Liberty on Sunday for a 3:30 p.m. contest. The Golden Eagles are set to return home on Thursday, October 17
th to host Wheeling University at 4:00 p.m.
