CHARLESTON, W, VA. – The Golden Eagles are set to return home this weekend with two games on tap. They will play Glenville State College at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 11 and at 11:00 a.m. against Concord Saturday, Oct. 12.
Glenville comes into the weekend having dropped their previous four games. They have so far posted a 2-13 overall record and an 0-3 record in the MEC. The pioneers are averaging a .147 hitting percentage per game as well as 10.3 kills per set. UC has not lost a game against Glenville in the past. They have a 16-0 record against the Pioneers.
As for Concord, they enter the weekend with a two-game win streak. They are currently 5-10 overall this season with a 2-1 record in the MEC. They are averaging a .140 hitting percentage and average 9.9 kills per set. Charleston has a 16-1 record against the Mountain Lions with their only loss coming to them on the road in 2016.
Charleston is coming off of an away loss to West Virginia State University on Tuesday where they fell 3-1. The Golden Eagles look to get back on track at home where they have a 4-3 record playing in the Wehrle Innovation Center. UC has a 5-14 record overall and are 0-3 in the MEC. Charleston will look to gain more production from freshman
Jaxin Melby as she has recorded four double-digit kill games in her previous four matches. The Golden Eagles will also look to sophomore
Brianna Washburn to keep her hot hand as she has recorded 3 double-digit kill games in her past four matches. As always, Charleston will rely on their senior leadership from
