Golden Eagles to Face Fighting Scots in Non-conference Matchup

CHARLESTON, W. Va. – The University of Charleston women's basketball team is back in action at the Wehrle Innovation Center on Thursday night as they take on the Ohio Valley Fighting Scots. Game time is set for 5:30 p.m.

Women's Basketball Outlook:
The University of Charleston Golden Eagles Women's Basketball team (8-2, 5-1 MEC) defeated the Cardinals of Wheeling University on Saturday evening by a score of 75-43. The Golden Eagles were led offensively by Dakota Reeves, who broke the school record for made 3-PT shots for the second time this season with 10, breaking the prior record of 9 set on November 8th against California (PA). Reeves now owns a share of the most three-point field goals in a Division II game this season and holds 2 of the top 6 three-point shooting performances in Division II this year.
 
The Golden Eagles out-rebounded Wheeling 52-33 including 19 on the offensive end to help them receive 10 second chance points. The Golden Eagles also forced 14 Cardinal turnovers to help them score 19 points off of turnovers.

The Fighting Scots come into the Thursday holding a record of 2-4 (1-3 G-MAC) and are currently on a five-game losing streak after dropping their most recent matchup to Ursuline College by a score of 66-83. Ohio Valley is led by Imani Ward who averages 19.7 ppg, and 11.0 rebounds per contest.

In the past, the Golden Eagles hold an 8-0 record over the Scots. In their most recent contest, the Golden Eagles came away with a 93-53 victory.
