How it Happened
It took nearly three minutes for either side to find the basket early on, Charleston's Raziyah Farrington drove the lane with just over seven minutes to go in the first quarter to put the first points on the board. The Hilltoppers took control of the first quarter boasting an 11-19 lead at the buzzer. Trailing 13-19, to start the second a quick jumper by Brooklyn Pannell brought the game within four points, but 15-19 would be the closest the Golden Eagles would get to the Hilltoppers for the remainder of completion.
Heading into the second half the Golden Eagles trailed by double digits, and would do so for the rest of the game.
The Golden Eagles had only three players score in the double digits. Senior guard Raziyah Farrington led the team with 20 points in the loss.
Anna Hayton was second with 18 points, scoring 13 in the second half for the Golden Eagles while sophomore guard Pannell tallied 12 points, and brought down a team high nine boards.
