CHARLESTON, W.Va.—The Golden Eagles opened their 2019 season with a loss, falling to the University of Indianapolis 20-2.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Golden Eagles were unable to stop the offensive pressure given by the Greyhounds in the first half, as their opponents finished 14 goals before the half was over. Charleston was unable to get any shots off in the first 30 minutes, heading into the half down 14-0.
 
The second half of play was a similar story, as Indiana continued to run up the score on UC. Charleston's junior goalkeeper continued to save the shots being slung at her, as the Golden Eagle defense attempted to keep the ball out of the net. 
 
As the half went on Charleston's momentum increased, and senior Peyton Harris gave UC their first goal of the day off of a free possession shot, putting the score at 20-1 with 4:11 left to play. The Golden Eagles kept up the energy, and Emma Renda used her offensive skills to sneak another one past Indy's goalie, making it 20-2 with 1:42 left. The Golden Eagles finished the game 20-2, falling to the Greyhounds.

- Peyton Harris and Emma Renda each had a goal for UC
- Kyra Tye totaled 10 saves against Indy.

FINDLAY INDIVIDUAL LEADER
- Grace Gunneson scored five goals against the Golden Eagles.
