How it Happened
The Golden Eagles jumped to a quick 11-5 lead in the opening minutes of the first quarter. Charleston shot 46 percent from the field in the first period, led by Dionna Sanders with five points. The Bobcats fought hard keeping the gap in the single digits. Nicole Gilyard led the effort with four points.

Charleston spread the gap, and held on to their lead throughout the second quarter, leading the Bobcats 32-18 at the break. Janesha Johnson and Sanders once again led the effort in the second quarter, each notching four points.

The Bobcats came out of the break to cut the Charleston lead to six points, but the Golden Eagles would not falter, and build back their advantage leading 56-40 to close the third quarter. The Golden eagles increased their lead to 20 points in the final period, and though the Bobcats brought the score within 13 points the Golden Eagles came away with the 71-58 win.

A strong third quarter performance by Anna Hayton boosted her to lead the Golden Eagles in the effort. The junior forward notched her second double-double of the season.
