CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The Golden Eagles went 0-2 at the PFX Spring games falling to Merrimack 8-1, followed by a 10-6 loss to Kutztown in game two.

HOW IT HAPPENED
GAME 1:
Merrimack jumped to a 1-0 lead in the top of the first with Hannah Johnson on third base, McBride hit a single allowing Johnson to score.
Caitlin McBride picked up her second RBI of the game in the top of the third allowing Tiffany Mangiameli to score. In the fourth inning Merrimack tacked on four runs to take the 7-0 lead over UC.
UC got on the board in the bottom of the sixth as Haleigh Christopher grounded out to the first basemen allowing AJ Martin to score.
Merrimack scored one final run in the top of the seventh to take the 8-1 victory.
Bridget Soraghan pitched 5.1 innings taking the win, while Jenna Wike got the save. Turner took her third loss of the season moving to 3-3 on the year.
GAME 2:
Kutztown took an early 3-0 lead in the top of the first, but Charleston answered back on Christopher's three-run homer to right center.
Kutztown scored two more runs in the fifth inning, followed by four additional runs in the sixths to take the 9-3 lead over the Golden Eagles.
Kendal Marshall doubled to centerfield in the bottom of the sixth sending Brionna Bowman home bringing the score 9-4. Carly Turner hit a two-run single in the bottom of the sixths to bring the score to 9-6.
Cheyenne Jones doubled to left center in the top of the seventh for Kutztown sending Hannah Auvil home to give KU the 10-6 win over Charleston.
NEXT UP
Charleston will take on Northwood and University of Sioux Falls on Thursday.
