CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The Golden Eagles (12-13, 3-5 MEC) moved to 12-13 on the season after completed the sweep of West Virginia Tech (13-15, 5-3 RSC) on Tuesday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
GAME 1:
Brionna Bowman got the Golden Eagles on the board first scoring on a ground out from Alex Thomas. In the top of the third Haleigh Christopher hit a two-run homer to give UC the 3-0 lead.
Alexis Lopez scored in the bottom of the fourth getting the Bears on the board bringing the score to 3-1.
Alex Thomas hit a single to center field in the top of the fifth, allowing Brionna Bowman to score again. Tech tacked on three runs in the bottom of the seventh, but were unable to catch the Golden Eagles who came away with the 5-4 win.
GAME 2:
West Virginia Tech struck first in the bottom of the second, with a run scored by Ashley Daniels.
Janey Schmidt scored in the top of the fourth to get UC on the board, tying the game up 1-1. After a scoreless fifth inning, the Golden Eagles tacked on four runs in the top of the sixth, lifting them ahead of the Bears.
NEXT UP
Charleston will host the Concord University Mountain Lions on Friday, March 29. The double header is set for 2:00 p.m.
