Golden Eagles Split with Cavaliers

CHARLESTON, W.Va. –  The Golden Eagles (13-14, 4-6 MEC) are at 13-14 on the season a split with the UVA-Wise Cavaliers (12-13, 6-4 MEC) on Friday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
GAME 1:
Kendall Marshall scored in the bottom of the first on a single from Carly Turner to give UC the 1-0 lead.
 
The Cavaliers answered on a single from Collins that sent Chambers home to tie the game up 1-1.
 
Charleston went 12-25 from the plate in game one tacking on four runs to take the 5-1 victory over the Cavaliers.
 
Carly Lucas picked up the complete game victory.

GAME 2:
The Cavaliers struck first taking an early 4-0 lead after a triple from Taylor Creasy in the top of the fourth.
 
The Golden Eagles scored in the bottom of the fourth to cut the lead to 4-1, but the Cavs would tack on two more runs making the score 8-2 before the bottom of the seventh.
 
Destinee Miles would score on Bowman's single in the bottom of the seventh bringing the score to 8-2.

NEXT UP
Charleston will host the Concord University Mountain Lions on Saturday, March 30. The double header is set for 2:00 p.m.
