WHEELING, W.Va. – The Golden Eagles (20-9) season came to an end on Friday night at the hand of the Concord University Mountain Lions. The Mountain Lions (20-9) kept a small lead for the majority of the game, defeating Charleston 74-62.

Concord (20-9) led for more than 38 minutes in the game. The Mountain Lions posted an 18-7 lead with just over 13 minutes to play in the first half after going on an 18-5 run. Concords Malik Johnson hit his own hot streak nailing three threes in the first half on his way to a 9-for-9 performance.
The Mountain Lions stayed ahead by at least six points for most of the first half. Drew Rackley hit a three with just over two minutes play in the half, cutting the lead to six points once again, but Tommy Bolte answered with a three at the 1:48 mark to give Concord the edge going into the break.
After the break Concord maintained their double-digit lead, when the Golden Eagles brought it within six, once again with a layup by LaMont MCMcanus.
The Golden Eagles went on a brief 6-0 run midway through the second half cutting the score to 59-53, but still could not make it over the hump as Concord spread the gap again to 11 points with 4:59 left in regulation.
Sopohmore LaMont McManus led the Golden Eagles Effort with 20 points. Senior, Josh Floyd contributed 15 points and three rebounds going 7-12 from the field. Malik Johnson and Trey Brisco each notched Career nights scoring 21 points in the Mountain Lion's effort.
The Golden Eagles defensive plan against Concord's leading scorer, Tommy Bolte was effective as he left competition with only nine points on the night, but the duo of Johnson and Brisco picked up the slack with each having a 21-point performance.
Adam Traore notched 11 points and six rebounds while Drew Rackley contributed seven.
The Mountain Lions outshot the Golden Eagles 52 percent to 41 percent, but the edge for CU was from behind the arc. UC went 3-for18 while the Mountain Lions hit a hot streak going 11-for 17.
