CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The Golden Eagles pitched two come from behind victories to get the sweep of the West Virginia Wesleyan Bobcats to close out their home schedule on Monday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
GAME 1:
The Golden Eagles offense was led by Destinee Miles (2-for-4) and Carly Turner (2-for-2), but it was Karli Pinterton (1for-3) who drove in two runs for the Golden Eagles, including the game winner.
Carly Turner got the start in the circle for game one, and took home the complete game victory. The freshman tallied five strikeouts, and retired 19 of 27 batters in the victory, giving up seven hits and four runs.
WVWC jumped ahead to a 3-0 as the top of the fifth frame closed, plating the runs on a pair of singles.
The Golden Eagles plated three runs in the bottom of the fifth. With two runners on, Bailey Gogia was walked to load the bases before Alex Thomas reached on a fielder's choise. Bowman was the lone casualty of the play allowing Turner to cross home plate.
A single from Donato and a sacrifice from Pinkerton knocked in the tying runs for the Golden Eagles.
After the fifth inning rally, the Golden Eagles knocked in the game winner with Destinee Miles on second. Pinkerton singled to center field giving Miles the go ahead, ending the game with the Golden Eagles on top 4-3.
GAME 2:
Miles once again had a 2-for-4 performance at the plate in game two while scoring the game winning run for the Golden Eagles in the bottom of the seventh.
Four other Golden Eagles combined for four hits and it was second basemen, Kendall Marshall who tallied the lone RBI of the game for UC.
Carly Lucas pitched 7.0 inning allowing three runs on eight hits to pick up win number 10 of the season.
The Bobcats jumped ahead to a, 1-0 lead in the first, as Kennedy Cowart crossed the plate on a single by Lauren King.
In the bottom of the fourth inning the Bobcats were plagued by a pair of errors that allowed the Golden Eagles to take the 2-1 lead. Kendall Marshall notched the lone RBI of the game on a single to left field that sent Bowman home, putting the Golden Eagles ahead 3-1.
The Bobcats plated runs in the fifth in sixth innings to tie the game up once again heading into the seventh.
Destinee Miles hit a single for the Golden Eagles in the bottom of the seventh, just before Pinkerton reached on an error by the second baseman that allowed Miles to score the Game winning run and complete the sweep for the Golden Eagles.
NEXT UP
Charleston will close their regular season with a trip to the Eastern Panhandle to face the Fairmont State Fighting Falcons on Friday, before taking on the leaders in the north on Sunday in Shepherdstown.
