Golden Eagles Go 0-2 On the Road

UNIVERSITY PARK PA./LORETTO, PA. – UC men's volleyball went 0-2 over the weekend, as they fell to Penn State University 3-0, and Saint Francis University 3-1.

How It Happened
MATCH 1
The Golden Eagles stayed close to Penn State throughout the duration of the match, but were unable to push past the Nittany Lions.  The first set of play was back and forth between the two sides, until Penn State pulled away after their 19thpoint, taking the set 25-21. The second set was a familiar story, as the Golden Eagles hung in the set but were unable to top the visitors, falling 24-26 and going down 0-2 in the match. The third and final set stayed tight until the 24th point, however, UC was not able to top their opponents, falling 26-24, and losing the match 0-3.
 
MATCH 2
The second game of the weekend was a bit of a different story to Friday's game, as the Golden Eagles snagged a set from Saint Francis, but fell 1-3. SFU was able to win the first set 25-23, but UC came ready to play in the second set. UC battled hard in set two, overtaking the hosts to win the set 25-19. In the third set of play the Golden Eagles weren't able to move past the visitors falling 25-23. UC couldn't find a rhythm in the last set of play, falling 25-22, and 1-3 on the day.
