HOW IT HAPPENED
GAME 1:
Charleston struggled to get into an offensive rhythm while facing the senior pitcher in game one of the series.

Junior leftfielder, Destinee Milles tallied UC's lone hit of the game, and got the nod from Kendall Marshall's groundout to second base to score UC's only run of the game.

Hudson recorded five strikeouts in five innings for WVWC. Hudson gave up just one hit on one run, while only walking two batters.

After UC took the early 1-0 lead, the Bobcats answered in the bottom of the second as Magsamen scored on Valencia's sacrifice.

The Bobcats scored four of their runs on homers by Alvarado, and Turner, to take the 5-1 lead in the bottom of the third.

After capitalizing on a couple Golden Eagle errors the Bobcats found themselves holding a 10-1 advantage. WVWC tacked on two more runs in the bottom of the fourth, scoring seven of their 12 runs in the inning.

Right-handed pitcher Carly Turner was charged with the loss after allowing five runs in 2.1 innings pitched. The freshman is now 10-7 on the season.

GAME 2:
Junior Carly Lucas got the start and threw 4.0 innings, recording just one strikeout, before Leigh Ann Jenkins entered in relief. The redshirt-freshman picked up her second win of the year after 2.1 innings of work, but allowed three runs on five hits. Senior, Mickaela Brown got the save after closing for the Golden Eagles as they game away with the thrilling 10-9 victory.

Offensively, Haleigh Christopher led UC knocking in four runs on two home runs.  Senior Bailey Gogia tallied three RBI hitting her first career homer as a Golden Eagles in the top of the second to tie the Game up for the Golden Eagles after Lauren King's 2-run dinger in the bottom of the first.

The Golden Eagles found themselves deadlocked with the Bobcats at six runs each after a double by Alex Thomas that scored Schriner for UC. Miles, Bowman, and Thomas each tallied an RBI for the Golden Eagles before they found themselves down 8-7 in the top of the final frame.
With Kendall Marshall on first base, and no outs, Christopher hit her second homer to take the 9-8 lead over the Bobcats.

Gogia's SAC fly sent Bowman home to give the Golden Eagles the two-run cushion heading into the bottom of the seventh.

WVWC's Valencia was hit by a pitch allowing the Bobcats ninth run to cross home plate, but it wouldn't be enough as the Golden Eagles took the victory in the 10-9 thriller.
