CHARLESTON, W. Va. - The University of Charleston Men's Soccer team (1-2, 1-0 MEC) took their second loss of the 2019 season to Bellarmine University (3-0, 0-0 GLVC) on Wednesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The 1-1 Golden Eagles went down early to the Knights on the road. At the 8:13 mark, a ball deflected off a freekick, fell to the foot of Tomas Bernedo who put the ball away from just five yards out.
Although the Golden Eagles offense had 11 shots to the Knights seven, the Golden Eagles were unable to capitalize on their seven on-target opportunities. Bellarmine clung to the lead for the remaining 81 minutes of play to down the Golden Eagles.
Andri Gretarsson tallied two saves in the effort, playing all 90 minutes in the net for the Charleston.

The Golden Eagles will take on conference rivals, Notre Dame College to open the Welch Athletic Complex on Sunday afternoon. Kickoff is set for 4:00 p.m.
