CHARLESTON, W. Va. – The Golden Eagles played host to the Notre Dame Falcons on Sunday, in their MEC opener. This was the first game played by Charleston in their new home, the Welch Athletic Complex. Charleston scored three second-half goals to seal their second MEC victory of the year.

HOW IT HAPPENED
After a scoreless first half, and 14 stagnant minutes in the second, a ball shot by
Freddy Tracey and mishandled ball by Daniele De Angelis gave the Golden Eagles their first goal of the game.
With the momentum in favor of the Golden Eagles, Charleston drove the field following a corner from Falcons, attacking with numbers, as
Eduardo Iranzo put the ball to the upper right corner for the 2-0 advantage over Notre Dame.
At the 81-minute mark, the Golden Eagles had another corner kick opportunity, that was finished on a shot by
Christos Charalambous giving Charleston the 3-0 lead as the clock wound down.
The Golden Eagles held on to the 3-0 lead to close out their first game in the Welch Athletic Complex.
