The UC Golden Eagles Women's Soccer team dropped their MEC Opener on Thursday afternoon, falling to the Senators of Davis & Elkins 1-0. The lone goal scored by Asheli Freed with just under 17 minutes remaining in the first half was all the Senators needed to win their first match as a member of the Mountain East Conference. Freed, who leads D&E with three goals, has now scored in each game for the Senators this season.

Charleston returns home on Sunday to matchup against the Bobcats of West Virginia Wesleyan. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. at the Welch Athletic Complex.
