CHARLESTON, W. Va. – The University of Charleston women's volleyball team will be making a trip down to Louisville, KY this weekend to play in the Louisville Kickoff Classic hosted by Bellarmine University. They will match up against Georgia College, Bellarmine University, Truman State University and Cedarville University.
The Golden Eagles are coming off of a 1-3 finish in the MEC/PSAC tournament that they hosted this past weekend. They currently have a 2-6 record and are looking to gain some momentum to kickstart their season.
The Golden Eagles will start the Louisville Kickoff Classic on Friday, Sep. 20 with a game against Georgia College at 3:15 p.m. The Bobcats enter the tournament with a 4-2 record and are currently on a three-game win streak.
Charleston will then play a second game that evening with a match against Bellarmine University scheduled for 7:30 p.m. The Knights come into the tournament with a 5-3 record and will look to defend their home court against the Golden Eagles.
UC has a quick turn around the following day as they will play Saturday, Sep. 21 against Truman State University at 11:00 a.m. The bulldogs will look to turn their season around as they have dropped their previous two games and possess a 3-5 record on the early 2019 campaign.
The Golden Eagles will cap off their Louisville Kickoff Classic appearance with a match against Cedarville University on Saturday, Sep. 21 at 3:15 p.m. The Yellow Jackets look to improve their 2-4 record that they have posted so far this season.
This will be the last tournament of the season for the Golden Eagles as they will begin their standard regular season play following this weekend.
