BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – Jaleel McLaughlin (NDC), Zach Strand (FROST) and Tim McCutchen (UC) have earned Mountain East Conference Player of the Week honors for their play in the fourth week of the season.
McLaughlin, a sophomore from Marshville, N.C., is the MEC Offensive Player of the Week for a third-straight week after going over 200 yards rushing for the third-straight game in a win over Urbana. He finisehd with 223 yards and two touchdowns against the fifth-ranked rushing defense in NCAA DII averaging over seven yards per carry.
Strand, a junior from Easton, Md., is the MEC Defensive Player of the Week after helping the Bobcats rally past Fairmont State last Thursday night. Strand came up with six total tackles (four solo), with three tackles for a loss and a pair of sacks. His first sack of the game resulted in Frostburg State's first points of the game on a safety for the Bobcats.
McCutchen, a freshman from Hurricane, W.Va., earns Special Teams Player of the Week honors after helping UC to a win over Valparaiso (FCS) last weekend. He accounted for 13 of the team's 19 points connecting on 4-for-4 field goals, including a long of 41 yards, and one extra point. McCutchen helped UC to the first win for a MEC school over a Division I opponent.

John Northrup (WVWC) was 22-of-33 for 293 yards passing and two touchdowns in a win over Wheeling ... Tremaine Ross (UC) had seven catches for 118 yards in a win over Valpo ... Takwan Crews-Naylor (FAIR) had three touchdowns and 231 yards through the air against Frostburg State ... Rafael Floyd (UU) had six catches for 70 yards with one TD ... Kyle Akin (CU) had a career-high 284 yards assing to go with 66 more on the ground for the Mountain Lions ... Ryan LaFollette (WU) had a team-high nine catches for 73 yards with a score.
Defense: Clay McDonald (WLU) had seven tackles (three for a loss with two sacks) and also recovered a blocked punt ... Jeremy Bell (UC) had two picks in a win over Valparaiso ... Chris Richardson (UU) piled up 19 tackles (11 solo) against Notre Dame ... Tre'von Slater (NDC) had 11 tackles (seven solo), including one for a loss, and broke up a pair of passes ... Tevon Littelton (WVSU) notched six solo tackles in a win over Concord ... Trevon Shorts (FAIR) had 11 tackles and an interception against Frostburg State ... Ke'Shawn Hall (CU) had five stops and one INT ... Ryan Gorman (WU) recorded eight tackles (seven solo) and broke up a pass.
Special Teams: Luke Walls (CU) had three field goals, inclduing a long of 42 yards, against West Virginia State ... Tyrone Lyte (WVSU) had three kick returns for 118 yards against Concord ... Jeremy Harrison (FROST) hit a 41-yard field goal in overtime against Fairmont State ... Donavin Wallace (UU) had 137 yards on four kick returns with a long of 45 ... Colin Harvath (FAIR) was 2-for-2 on field goals and 4-for-4 on extra point attempts against Frostburg State.
