- Evelina Von Euler scored the game winner in the 50th minute of play
- Kaylee Hensley recorded five saves
Much like the season opener on Thursday where the Golden Eagles used 80 minutes of solid defense to keep the game close, Charleston's discomforting play on the defensive side of the ball held Seton Hill scoreless and still searching for their first goal of the season.
Seton Hill seemed to control the ball for the majority of the first 15 minutes of play before Charleston regained control of the game. Going into the half tied at 0-0, it didn't take long for the Golden Eagles to capitalize, as Demps pushed the ball towards to corner for Von Euler who hit the back of the upper right-hand part of the net past Griffin Goalkeeper Elyza Pilatowski-Herzing to give UC a 1-0 lead along with their first goal of the season.
Sophomore Goalkeeper
Kaylee Hensley recorded her second career solo shutout, making five saves as the Golden Eagles improved to 1-1-0 on the season. UC will travel to Queens University of Charlotte on Wednesday as the Royals host Golden Eagles at Queens Sports Complex with kickoff scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
