CHICAGO, IL. – This weekend the University of Charleston Golden Eagles will be traveling to Illinois as they will take on the Ramblers from Loyola University Chicago and the Flyers from Lewis University.
The Golden Eagles will face the Ramblers on Friday, Jan.24 at 7:00 p.m. Loyola University Chicago is currently ranked No. 15 in the nation with a 1-5 record. They have played some tough opponents this season having played BYU, UC San Diego, UC Irvine, Penn State and Hawaii. Their only win this season came against King University (Tenn.) where they beat the Tornado 3-1. UC has played the Ramblers only once in the past, losing the match by a score of 3-0.
Charleston will then travel to Romeoville, IL to take on the Flyers from Lewis University on Saturday, Jan. 25 at 7:00 p.m. Lewis is ranked No. 7 in the nation currently with a record of 3-3. Their three wins coming from King University (Tenn.), UC Irvine and UC San Diego. Their three losses came from BYU, Hawaii and Penn State. Charleston has played the Flyers once in their time as a program losing to Lewis 3-0 back in 2016.
Charleston is coming off of a weekend split where they beat Erskine College 3-1 and lost to Limestone college in a close battle 2-3. Charleston will face some tough opponents this weekend and will look to earn a pair of wins on the road to get some momentum as they prepare to head into the meat of their season.
