WINTER PARK, Fla. – The Golden Eagles are 4-0 after the second day of the PFX Spring Games after downing Georgian Court 3-0, followed by a 2-0 win over Georgian Court.

HOW IT HAPPENED
GAME 1:
UC Softball defeated University of the Sciences 3-0 on Tuesday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Megan Eder induced a groundout from Keiya Moncilovich to finish off the game.
The pitching was strong on both sides. UC Softball pitchers struck out six, while University of the Sciences pitchers sat down one.
UC Softball got things started in the second inning. UC Softball scored one run when Karli Pinkerton singled.
A single by Hannah Higgins in the first inning was a positive for University of the Sciences.
Alyssa Yungwirth took the win for UC Softball. She lasted four innings, allowing five hits and zero runs while striking out five. Eder threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Alexandria Jackson took the loss for University of the Sciences. She allowed five hits and three runs over two and a third innings.
UC Softball racked up nine hits on the day. Kendall Marshall, Pinkerton, and Eder each racked up multiple hits for UC Softball. Eder, Pinkerton, and Marshall each managed two hits to lead UC Softball.
Higgins went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead University of the Sciences in hits. University of the Sciences was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Moncilovich made the most plays with eight.
GAME 2:
Dani Bauer threw a gem on Tuesday for UC Softball, allowing zero runs and besting Georgian Court University by a score of 2-0
The pitching was strong on both sides. Bauer struck out 13, while Mikayla Gilgert sat down 11.
A double by Lindsey Fischbach in the fourth inning was a positive for Georgian Court University.
Bauer earned the victory in the circle for UC Softball. She went seven innings, allowing zero runs on two hits, striking out 13 and walking one.
Gilgert took the loss for Georgian Court University. She surrendered two runs on seven hits over seven innings, striking out 11 and walking zero.
UC Softball hit two home runs on the day. Megan Eder had a four bagger in the sixth inning. Emma Groe went for the long ball in the fourth inning.
UC Softball racked up seven hits on the day. Kendall Marshall and Karli Pinkerton each collected multiple hits for UC Softball. Pinkerton and Marshall each managed two hits to lead UC Softball.
