WINTER PARK, Fla. – The Golden Eagles are 5-1 after their third day of competition at the PFX Spring Games. Charleston picked up a win against Seton Hill, 4-3, but fell to Cedarville 4-5 in game two of the day.

HOW IT HAPPENED
GAME 1:
UC Softball snatched the lead late in the game in a 4-3 victory over Seton Hill University on Thursday. The game was tied at three with UC Softball batting in the top of the seventh when Emma Groe drew a walk, scoring one run.
UC Softball fired up the offense in the first inning. An error scored two runs for UC Softball.
In the bottom of the sixth inning, Seton Hill University tied things up at three. Seton Hill University scored one run when #21 singled.
Dani Bauer got the win for UC Softball. She surrendered three runs on nine hits over seven innings, striking out eight.
#9 took the loss for Seton Hill University. She lasted seven innings, allowing five hits and four runs while striking out one.
Destinee Miles led UC Softball with two hits in three at bats.
Seton Hill University tallied nine hits in the game. #5 and #13 each managed multiple hits for Seton Hill University.
GAME 2:
UC Softball lost the lead late in a 5-4 defeat to Cedarville University on Thursday. The game was tied at three with Cedarville University batting in the top of the eighth when #1 singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.
Cedarville University opened up scoring in the first inning. #5 hit a solo homer.
Cedarville University knotted the game up at three in the top of the seventh inning. #5 drove in one when she singled.
#8 was the winning pitcher for Cedarville University. She lasted eight innings, allowing seven hits and three runs.
Carlee Lucas took the loss for UC Softball. She lasted seven and two-thirds innings, allowing seven hits and four runs while striking out six.
Janey Schmidt, Destinee Miles, Ann-Judie Martin, Megan Eder, Karli Pinkerton, Allysa Lake, and Kendall Marshall all had one hit to lead UC Softball. UC Softball didn't commit a single error in the field. Eder had the most chances in the field with eight.
Cedarville University saw the ball well today, racking up seven hits in the game. #5 and #1 all had multiple hits for Cedarville University. #5 led Cedarville University with three hits in four at bats.
