CHARLESTON, W. Va. – The University of Charleston's men's volleyball team will be returning home this week for their first home match in almost a month. They will get set to take on McKendree University in a two-match weekend. 

A LOOK AT MCKENDREE
To this point in the season, McKendree has posted a 10-6 record overall with a 4-2 record in the Midwest Intercollegiate Volleyball Association. When playing at home, the Bearcats have a 7-0 record, while on the road they have gone 1-3. Their neutral site record is at 2-3 on the season. 

As a team, the Bearcats have tallied 692 kills on 1626 attempts with 276 errors. They are hitting .256 collectively. As a team, they average 11.2 kills per set. In terms of service aces, McKendree has 76 of them to this point averaging 1.2 per set.

Defensively, McKendree has 127.5 blocks on the year with about 2.1 blocks per set. 

The Bearcats are led offensively by junior outside hitter Patrick Ross. He has recorded 115 kills on the season while hitting .242 on the year. He averages 2.35 kills per set. He has also recorded a total of 21 aces on the year. 

From a defensive standpoint, the Bearcats lead on redshirt junior Wyatt Dimke and sophomore libero Francisco Comas.  Dimke has 50 total blocks on the season averaging .91 per set. Comas has 120 digs on the year averaging 2.22 per set. 

A LOOK AT CHARLESTON
UC is 4-13 overall on the season, having a 2-6 record so far in the conference. They have dropped their last four games. 

As a team, they have 691 kills on the season with 322 errors on 1629 total attempts. They are hitting .227 as a team. They have 79 aces with 1.3 aces per set. 

In terms of defense, UC has 100.5 total blocks on the year averaging 1.6 per set as well as 504 digs averaging 8.1 per set. 

Charleston is led offensively by sophomore outside hitter Lachlan Bray. He has posted 166 kills on the year averaging 3.32 kills per set. He earned the EIVA offensive player of the week last week as he had a whale of a weekend. Despite two losses for the Golden Eagles, Lachlan had a pair of huge performances. The sophomore broke the program record for a five-set match on March 5 with 27 kills while hitting .500 against King (Tenn.), adding eight digs and three aces. Two nights later, in a loss to George Mason, Bray had 20 kills while hitting .417, with eight digs and four aces. His two-match total saw a hitting line of 47-11-78 .462 with 16 digs, seven aces and a pair of blocks. The EIVA weekly honors are the first of Bray's season and career.

On the defensive side of things, UC is led by sophomore setter Diego Villafane, he leads the team in digs and blocks. He has 66 digs on the year averaging 1.06 per set while recording 34 total blocks on the year averaging .55 blocks per set. 

UC will look to turn their four-game skid around as they will be excited to get back out onto their home court this weekend.
